**A Quick Note About Registration**
We have received some questions about the registration process and wanted to provide clarification to make things easier for everyone.
With our new website, you may notice that a bit more information is being requested during registration than in previous years. Please know that many of these fields are optional, and you can skip them if they don’t apply to your situation.
Here’s why some of the questions—like those about residency and age—are included:
Little League tournaments, from district and state levels to the national stage in Williamsport, require proof of age and residency for players. To streamline the process and avoid last-minute scrambling, the new registration system incorporates these requirements upfront. That said, these details are primarily necessary for tournament-age players (9–12 years old) and will only be confirmed if your child qualifies for a tournament team at the end of the season.
For most families, the registration process should feel simple and straightforward. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these updates and work to make the season enjoyable for everyone!
League-Age
Little League age is how AALL determines a players playing age for the Fall and Spring season. See the League Age Calculator to determine what level of play your child is eligible to play. Your child's "league age" is determined based on their age as of August 31 for baseball and December 31 for softball. In other words, for the Spring 2026 season, if your child was born on August 30, 2015, for purposes of baseball and softball they would be considered league age 11, even though at the time of the season they will only be 10. If your child was born on September 14, 2015, they would be league age 10 for baseball and league age 10 for softball.
Division Placement
As a reminder, during registration, your child is initially placed in a division based on age. For players ages 7–12, the league conducts league-wide assessments to help place each player in the division that best matches their current level of experience, comfort, and overall development. Assessments are also used to help evenly distribute players across teams, promoting parity and a fun, competitive season for everyone. Once assessments are completed, you can expect to hear from the League promptly regarding your child’s final placement.
