The new name better represents the towns and neighborhoods that make up our league — from the heart of Annapolis and Davidsonville to Riva, Mayo, Edgewater, Bowie and as far north as Glen Burnie — that come together every season to create something truly special. While our name is changing, our core values remain the same: fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love of the game in a fun, supportive environment.

Since 1996, South Maryland Little League has proudly served our community, shaping young athletes both on and off the field. Our success speaks for itself - winning 10 of the last 17 District 4 titles in the Majors Little League All Star tournament - but our greatest achievement is the growth and development of our players into outstanding young adults.

The rebrand represents the Board’s desire to have Annapolis Area Little League be “one team.” For the first time, we will have a shared mascot, and all players will wear Annapolis Area jerseys. We will now be the Annapolis Area Little League “Blue Claws” and our travel teams will be the Annapolis Area “Hammers” (a local nod to big blue claws). We will be leaning into the themes of AALL TOGETHER and AALL ARE WELCOME. We are stronger, more inclusive and more united under one brand.

As stewards of the game, we remain committed to fostering a love for baseball and inspiring the next generation of players and fans. As we move forward under a new brand, we look forward to expanding our reach while continuing the rich traditions that define our league.
